About Alyse
My name is Alyse Johnson, and I am a 28-year-old engineer from Auckland. I graduated in 2019 with a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Canterbury. After working as an engineer for three years, I left New Zealand to travel the world. Since then, I’ve lived in Italy, Scotland, and Canada, working primarily as a ski instructor in the ski industry. I love to teach and have decided to return to academic tutoring. Outside of teaching, I enjoy the outdoors—spending my winters skiing and my summers mountain running. I’m also very crafty and love making my own clothing and cooking big, homemade meals.

I am an academic tutor offering online one-on-one lessons in Math and Physics. I teach all levels of high school and NCEA Math and Physics, as well as first-year university courses. I provide exam preparation and homework help tailored to each student’s needs. I have experience tutoring throughout high school and university, and I am now a qualified engineer continuing my passion for teaching through virtual tutoring sessions. I believe learning should be engaging, inclusive, and connected to real-world scenarios, helping students build confidence and truly understand the material.
