About Isabel
I am a fluent German speaker who is passionate about all aspects of language learning. I graduated in Modern and Medieval Languages (German and French, 2020) from the University of Cambridge with Double First Class Honours with Special Excellence in spoken German. I have just completed an MPhil in European Literatures and Cultures at the University of Cambridge with Distinction, specialising in contemporary German literature.
I have more than 5 years' experience in language teaching and learning, and have helped a number of students develop their speaking and writing skills. My most recent student received a First in his German degree with regular sessions on grammar and speaking with me. I am knowledgeable about essay writing and exam structures for German GCSE and A Level and I am also able to advise on Oxbridge and other University applications.

I believe that both language and literature learning should be a shared and enjoyable experience. My approach therefore centres around the interaction of cultures within texts and languages, encouraging my students to produce well-structured and well-written pieces of writing in order to further their learning. I love grammar - both German and English - and will help you to build a great base for language learning or iron out any difficulties you have.
