I am currently studying Ophthalmic Dispensing BSc (Hons) at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge.
In my spare time I have enjoyed volunteering weekly for 6 months at a care home, spending time with the elderly and initiating activities for them to take part in. I have also enjoyed ten months of voluntary work for an elderly person, which involved routine weekly shopping and interacting, such as talking and watching television together.
I participated in the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and achieved Bronze and Silver by the age of 15. I learnt valuable skills such as First Aid including communication, team building and the ability to sustain long day expeditions. These activities taught me how to manage time efficiently and cope with pressure. I feel that this is a reflection of my hard-working and dedicated character which are attributes that I believe are transferrable and useful in any job I do.
Furthermore I was appointed the role at school of public relations prefect. This shaped me into a friendly and approachable person that can work under pressure and can meet tight deadlines.
