About Monisha Mirra
There’s a look students get when something finally clicks not because they’ve memorised a formula, but because they truly understand it. I first noticed it back at undergrad university, while helping a classmate struggle through a tricky electronics problem. After an hour of breaking it down together, their frustration melted into this quiet, confident smile. That’s when it hit me: learning isn’t just about the right answer. It’s about feeling safe enough to ask the wrong questions first. What started as casual study sessions explaining concepts to school students or guiding peers through assignments slowly became something deeper. I realised how much I loved seeing that moment of clarity, that shift from "I’ll never get this" to "Wait, actually… this makes sense." By the time I finished my Master’s in Digital Marketing after 5 years of working as a Data Engineer, tutoring had stopped being just a side gig. It felt like the most natural way to use what I’d learned to help others. Now, I specialise in GCSE Maths and Science (with experience supporting A-Level students, too). My approach is simple: 1. Build foundations, not shortcuts I break down complex ideas step by step, so you get them, not just memorise them. 2. No such thing as a "silly question" I keep lessons relaxed and judgement-free because confusion is just part of the process. 3. Structure meets flexibility Lessons are organised, but always adapt to your pace and gaps. I’ve been told I have a knack for simplifying tricky topics and giving practical strategies that stick. But more than that, I care about creating a space where you feel encouraged, not embarrassed, to say "Can we go over that again?" As a responsible and adaptable tutor, I believe in making Maths and Science clear, approachable, and relevant for every student. I focus on building both subject understanding and exam confidence, using simple explanations, structured problem-solving, and real-world examples. My goal is to help students feel prepared and positive about their learning. I adapt each lesson to suit the student’s pace, whether they need step-by-step guidance or are aiming for top grades. I encourage active participation, questions, and regular practice helping students grow in both knowledge and confidence. Lessons are usually 60 minutes, with 30–45 minute options available for focused revision or younger learners. I hold an Engineering degree and a Master’s in Digital Marketing. I have experience teaching GCSE and A-level Maths and Science and have consistently supported fellow students throughout my academic journey. Being a constant learner myself, I bring patience, adaptability, and a genuine enjoyment of teaching to every lesson. I tutor GCSE and A-level students (ages 14–18) as well as adult learners looking to refresh their Maths or Science skills. Lessons are always personalised whether for exam preparation, building core skills, or improving overall confidence.
