About Tammy
I went to high school in Long Island, NY. During this time, I balanced my coursework, volunteering, tutoring services, as well as my service job outside all while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Due to my busy schedule, staying organized and finding good study methods were crucial to my academic success. Throughout high school, I've found that sometimes teachers may explain certain topics in a way that isn't the most digestible to students. Therefore, I learned useful methods for self studying which also allowed me to teach others in challenging subjects.
Before living in the US, I lived in Taiwan for 7 years (from grade 2 to 8), and I am fully fluent in (traditional) Chinese and American English (I was enrolled in an international school), which is also why I offer my tutoring services in both Chinese and English.
Some of my prior experience include:
- tutoring Regents Geometry (POBJFK High school)
- teaching elementary level Chinese (Tzu Chi Foundation)
- tutoring SAT Math (Privately hired)
I am currently a pre med student at Stony Brook studying biochemistry. I hope I'm able to help others understand any of the academic subjects I offer better.
