About Thomas
While studying for my BS I spent 3 years tutoring both for the university and privately with good results from students that were able to schedule several sessions. In the university tutoring center I was twice awarded for excellence for being a student tutor. I personally am a bit passionate about both computational and pure math. This has me seeking out problems as a hobby, keeping my skills sharp.

While some amount of mathematical thinking is from talent, many patterns and solution methods can be taught to identify when a particular method is useful and how to most easily implement solutions. These skills are what I teach when tutoring as well as a few ways to break problems down which may take more time, but allow for mathematically sound solutions when confronted with problems that cannot be solved with previously learned methods. I usually do this by looking back at assigned work with difficult or incorrectly answered problems to identify areas that can be strengthened.
