About Jamie
After working as a Civil Engineer from 2014 to 2016, I made the switch to Education after finding my passion for teaching. Now with 5+ years in Education, I have been a professional tutor for the past 2 years. I was a classroom teacher for 3 years in Yellowknife, NT before moving to BC and Alberta. I have worked with students over a variety of courses including trade school maths, high school math and physics, University level calculus and physics, and AP courses. Work as a classroom teacher and educational assistant has given me a strong skill set to teach students with IEPs and special learning requirements. As well, my degree in civil engineering from UBC and prior work as a Municipal Engineer provides me with knowledge that translates outside the classroom and into the real industry. My passion for helping others succeed has resulted in me becoming a patient, trusting, and caring tutor. My motivation is to help you improve and build confidence in yourself!

Perfect! Jaime was super helpful and supportive of our daughter through her high school years.
Perfect! Jamie was wonderful with my daughter! The difficulty of grade 10 math was daunting at the beginning of the school year and Jamie was able to help her feel a lot more confident and bring her grade up as well as keep her marks consistent. Would highly recommend!

Jamie is a lifesaver. If COVID taught us anything, it was that my husband and myself do not have the patience to be teachers. Not to mention, we have never taken physics. We (including our dog) welcomed Jamie in to our home to get us all through physics. She was able to explain physics in a more understandable way and helped our stressed out and frustrated child master the needed concepts to achieve a high final grade.
