About Brandy
I am a chemist, currently doing research in chemical engineering. I am interested in helping early students (high school or post-secondary) with their class work to build skill and confidence. As a mother to a young daughter myself, I am particularly interested in mentoring young women as they pursue careers in STEM.

I have a wide range of teaching experience, from teaching swimming lessons to young children, previous tutoring experience and work as a teaching assistant for 1st and 2nd year chemistry courses at multiple universities. In these roles, I have worked with a variety of special-needs children and ESL students. My approach generally involves having students bring problems that they commonly struggle with and working with them to determine where the struggle is coming from - building confidence and determining strategies for future success. I never want tutoring to be a long term solution, but rather a means of building a tool box for success.
