About Antonette
Every kid must have enjoyed Math at some point. From my experience as a teacher, I've seen that lots of students do really well in Math during their early years. But as they get older and Math gets more complicated, it becomes super important to have a solid foundation and good skills already in place. If a kid misses out on that foundation, it can make learning harder and make them feel unsure or scared about Math. Whenever I start teaching, I like to think that some of my students might have missed out on some important basics. So, I make sure to go over these foundations again to ensure that everyone is up to speed. It's not always easy to do this in a classroom setting, but with one-on-one tutoring, it's much more achievable. It's really important to create a sense of trust and openness right from the beginning so that the student feels relaxed and can really enjoy learning. It's worth keeping in mind that everyone has their own special ways of having fun and learning, so it's best to take a personalized and adaptable approach to teaching mathematics. I've been teaching high school for 16 years and university courses for 9 years. During this time, I've learned how to keep my students interested and organized, and I've also become skilled at academic writing and ethics. My background in engineering has also helped me explain difficult concepts in simpler terms that are easier to understand and remember.

My teaching method has always been keeping things SIMPLE and BASIC. Everything in Math can be turned EASY for everyone to understand and remember. One proven strategy is associating math concepts with real-life experiences and applications. When I teach a new concept, it always starts with an application, followed by a guided, teacher-led lecture. Examples will then be practiced before the students try it on their own. The lessons are for Grades 6-12 high school students, college students, and adults needing a refresher on Math.
