About Harshdeep
Hi! I’m Harshdeep, a recent Carnegie Mellon graduate with a B.S. in Statistics & Machine Learning and minors in Computer Science and Innovation & Entrepreneurship. I scored a 1580 on the SAT, earned 5s on multiple AP exams, and have over 500 hours of tutoring experience working with students from middle school through college.
I specialize in math, computer science, SAT preparation, AP coursework, and college application/essay support. Alongside my academic background, I also have professional experience through software engineering internships in tech, which allows me to connect classroom concepts to real-world problem solving.

I’m a recent Carnegie Mellon graduate studying Statistics & Machine Learning and Computer Science, and I try to make tutoring feel a lot less intimidating than it often does in school. My goal is to help students actually understand concepts instead of just memorizing steps for a test. I usually explain things in a few different ways until something clicks, and I adapt lessons based on how each student learns best.
A typical session depends on the student’s goals, but usually we’ll review any confusing topics first, work through examples together, and then practice problems independently with guidance along the way. For SAT prep, I focus a lot on patterns, strategy, and time management in addition to content review. For college essays, I help students find their voice and make their writing feel personal and authentic rather than overly polished or generic.
I think what makes me different is that I’ve very recently gone through all of this myself, from AP classes and SAT prep to college applications, technical interviews, and internships in tech, so I understand both the academic side and the pressure students can feel. I’ve worked with students across a wide range of ages and skill levels, and I really care about helping people build confidence and feel comfortable asking questions.
I work with middle school, high school, and college students in subjects like math, statistics, computer science/programming, SAT prep, AP coursework, study skills, and college applications/essays. Whether a student wants to get ahead over the summer, improve grades, prep for standardized tests, or feel more confident in STEM classes, I’m happy to help.
