About Jared
Greetings! My name is Jared Ramirez, and I am a rising third-year Electrical Engineering student at Cal Poly Pomona. In my downtime, I enjoy playing golf, working on engineering projects, and trying new things.
Throughout my academic journey, I have developed a strong foundation in mathematics, physics, and problem-solving. As an IEEE Project Lead, I regularly collaborate with students, lead technical projects, and help others understand challenging concepts. These experiences have strengthened my ability to communicate complex topics in a clear and approachable manner.
I believe that every student learns differently, and my goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Rather than focusing solely on memorization, I strive to help students understand the reasoning behind concepts so they can build confidence and become independent learners.
I primarily tutor subjects such as Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Physics, and other STEM-related courses. Additionally, I am happy to share my experiences as an engineering student with those interested in pursuing engineering or other STEM fields.
I look forward to helping students achieve their academic goals and develop the confidence needed to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

My approach as a tutor is to focus on understanding rather than memorization. I believe in practice, students not only retain more when understanding topics but it also sharpens their critical thinking skills. During sessions, I encourage questions and work step-by-step through examples to build confidence and problem-solving skills.
A typical lesson begins with identifying topics the student finds challenging. We review important concepts, work through practice problems together, and then have the student solve similar problems independently while I provide guidance and feedback. My goal is to help students become more confident and self-sufficient learners.
As an Electrical Engineering student at Cal Poly Pomona and an IEEE Project Lead, I regularly apply mathematics, physics, and analytical thinking to real-world engineering problems. This allows me to connect classroom concepts to practical applications and explain difficult topics in a clear and relatable way. Additionally, as an Electrical Engineering student, I can share my experiences, study strategies, and knowledge with students interested in engineering and other STEM disciplines.
My lessons are best suited for middle school, high school, and college students seeking help with Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Physics, and Electrical Engineering. However, I am also open to aiding students in elementary school.
