About Carla

Originally from abroad, I moved to the United States and had to learn a new language while adapting to a completely different education system. Because of this, I understand the challenges students face, not just academically, but personally as well, and I bring patience, empathy, and encouragement to every lesson. My real-world lab experience allows me to explain complex topics clearly and make science feel relevant and approachable. I offer structured, engaging lessons tailored to high school students, with a focus on understanding, confidence, and long-term success. You can trust that you're learning from someone who is both highly qualified and genuinely invested in helping you thrive.

About the lesson

As a Biomedical Science graduate currently working in a pathology lab, I offer high school students expert tutoring in biology, chemistry, and math, backed by both academic knowledge and real-world scientific experience. My goal is to help students build genuine understanding and confidence, not just memorize facts for tests :)

I break down complex topics into clear, simple steps using relatable examples, visuals, and interactive methods. I adapt each lesson to suit your learning style, whether you're a visual learner, a hands-on problem solver, or somewhere in between. I believe learning should be engaging and logical.

A Typical Lesson includes:

A quick recap of previous material

Clear explanations with examples and diagrams

Guided problem-solving and practice questions

A brief review and take-home suggestions

Lessons are usually 1 hour and are fully tailored to your needs and school curriculum.

What Sets Me Apart:

I’m friendly, approachable, and know how to explain things without overcomplicating and I’ve worked with many students who went from struggling to thriving!

Who It's For:

High school student who want to:

Improve in biology, chemistry, or math

Prepare for exams with confidence

Understand topics, not just memorize them

Get support from someone who works in science every day
