About Theresa
I am a native American English speaker. I grew up in the United States and received my bachelor's degree from Northwestern University outside Chicago. Written communication has always been both an interest and a strength for me. During my bachelor's degree, I took courses in poetry and creative non-fiction, and I wrote many essays in subjects such as history, musicology and the like, with very good results. I have worked for four years in marketing and communications, where editing was a central part of my responsibilities. In addition, I have recently completed a doctorate with a 300-page thesis. During my doctorate, I gained experience in supervising academic texts, and for two years I have taught a workshop on how to write a project description for a doctoral application at the Norwegian Academy of Music.

I supervise texts to help with both language and expression.
I ask that you send the text for me to read in advance of our lesson, and then we meet for discussion and feedback. During the lesson, I ask questions to understand what you want from the text, and I explain how I perceive what you have written. We discuss structure, flow, grammar, tone and expression. If you have specific wishes, I take them into account.
