About Steve

I’m a Year 12 student with a strong academic background in Maths. I achieved ten Grade 9s at GCSE, including 233/240 in Maths GCSE, as well as a Grade 9 in Level 2 Further Maths.
I attend one of the UK's top grammar schools, having successfully passed its competitive entrance examinations myself.

I’m passionate about helping students build their confidence in Maths and reach their full potential. I offer tutoring for KS2 and KS3, to help students prepare for competitive maths exams including the 11+, school exams, and GCSEs.

About the lesson

I achieved ten Grade 9s at GCSE, including 233/240 in Maths GCSE, as well as a Grade 9 in Level 2 Further Maths.

I teach 11+ maths to help children from 8-11 by focusing on building strong mathematical foundations, developing problem-solving skills and improving speed and accuracy, with the aim of preparing students for grammar school entrance exams which are extremely competitive.

I also teach GCSE maths to help children from 11 - 15 improve their grades, by focusing on identifying gaps in knowledge, strengthening understanding of difficult topics and practising exam-style questions.

The typical length of a session is 1.5 hours, during which I use a combination of explanation of the mathematical concepts, worked examples including past paper questions, and guided practice before giving students questions to complete, which helps build confidence and improve working speed.
