Hi, I’m Karina! When I’m not helping students achieve their academic goals, you can find me experimenting in the kitchen, volunteering in my community, or spending quality time with my friends. I also love dancing—it’s one of my favorite ways to unwind and express myself. As a tutor, I’m passionate about empowering students to build confidence in their abilities and develop strategies for long-term success. I enjoy making learning engaging and relatable by connecting academic concepts to real-life examples and personal goals. In a typical first session with a student, I focus on building rapport and understanding their specific needs and goals. I start by asking questions about their current challenges, strengths, and what they hope to achieve through tutoring. I also review any materials or topics they are struggling with to assess their understanding and identify areas for improvement.
Once I have a clear picture of their needs, I introduce a structured plan for our sessions, outlining content, practice, and strategies to help them achieve their goals. I aim to create a comfortable, encouraging environment where they feel confident asking questions and expressing concerns. By the end of the first session, the student will have a clearer sense of direction and actionable steps to begin improving their skills.
