  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

From the childhood days, I used to like science subject because I was very inquisitive to know answers of my questions. When I started studying science in my school, I developed great interest in the subject because this subject is very much related to our daily life and I loved studying chemistry because it teaches us how to analyze and solve problems and also makes us objective.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

Teaching is a very noble profession in which we not only teach students but learn many new skills.
My motivation is my well qualified teachers and mentors. Moreover, when I used to help my younger cousins in studies, they used to admire me a lot for my way of explaining concepts which again motivated me to teach chemistry.
  • How does your work help society?

By teaching Chemistry, I ensure that my students are equipped with nice knowledge which can meet human needs for good food as well as healthcare products and many other daily use materials to improve the quality of life.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

My role model is my coaching teacher, Sahendra Sir. He used to teach us Physical Chemistry and I am really impressed by his way of teaching. He not only develops the interest of the students in the subjects by relating concepts with daily life, but also shares his experiences, and makes the classes interesting and lively.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

I like creating best out of recyclable waste and playing badminton.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

It was during my graduation days, i.e. in B.Sc.
Our teacher who used to teach us Inorganic Chemistry was teaching Topic Lanthanides and Actinides that day. He asked students what is the colour of Lanthanides? But nobody answered!! As I was one of the favourite students of that teacher, so he asked me what is the colour of your scooty. I said 'silver'. So, Sir told us that Lanthanides are silver in colour. ( I was shocked to know that sir knew the colour of my scooty also)
Then one of my friends asked Sir were the lanthanides earlier black in colour? Because last year she used to come on black colored scooty. The whole class was amused by this!! 😀
