With over 10 years of experience teaching students of all ages, I’ve developed a flexible, student-centered approach that makes math accessible, understandable, and even enjoyable. Having worked with kids from early elementary through high school — and even adults returning to education — I know that every learner brings a unique set of strengths, challenges, and goals.
I believe the best way to learn math is through clear explanations, active problem-solving, and plenty of encouragement. I break complex ideas down into manageable steps, always connecting new concepts to real-world examples. I use a mix of visual aids, guided practice, and strategic questioning to help students not just memorize formulas, but truly understand the why behind the math.
Mistakes are treated as valuable learning opportunities — not setbacks. Building a student’s confidence is just as important as building their skills.
Each lesson is customized to the student's needs, but generally follows this structure:
Warm-up: Quick review of previous material or a fun challenge question to get thinking.
New Topic Introduction: Clear explanation, using diagrams, examples, or stories.
Guided Practice: Working through problems together, gradually releasing responsibility.
Independent Practice: Students apply the concept with support as needed.
Wrap-Up and Reflection: Summarizing key takeaways and setting a goal for next time.
