About Grace
I am a vibrant and fun-loving person by nature, which is always carried into my teaching style. At 26 years of age, I have 10 years of piano teaching experience, and have worked in an array of public and private schools, a music school and also successfully run a private music studio in-person and online. I studied piano at the University of Western Australia at the Conservatorium of Music. I graduated with a BA in Music Studies and Specialist Music Studies (Piano Performance) under the guidance of the Czech teacher Jana Kovar. Music and piano teaching runs in my family, and I was taught by my sister and mother from the age of 7, before continuing my piano studies with Jana for the next 4.5 years. I am now furthering my musical experiences across Europe. I am adept at working with all age groups for children right up to adults, as well as with students who may have learning hindrances, or difficulties. With all types of students I have had great success and love to tailor the lesson to a particular student’s needs at the time.

I am a classically trained pianist with 10 years of teaching experience, having worked in a variety of reputable private and public schools, as well as running a successful home studio and online studio. I am offering online lessons to any English speaking students from beginner to advanced ability. I am able to help students achieve musical goals, whether for piano examinations, band, scholarship entries, performances or simply for personal leisure. My lessons are a healthy mix of learning pieces, scales and technical exercises, and working on musicality, theory in practice, and technique. I aim to create a level of independence in all my students, so they are capable of playing music at their level without a teacher’s constant supervision, and once students are relatively adept, I help them search for their personal goal and preferred genres of music that they wish to pursue further. I have a strong classical background with strong technical ability, and because of this can offer my knowledge and experience to my students, to help reduce the risk of injury often incurred from playing instruments regularly, including muscular strain and repetitive strain injury. For beginners, I create a strong foundation of note-reading and rhythmic understanding from the very first lesson, and have all students reading and playing at least one piece in their first lesson. I encourage them to read and work through new concepts thoroughly, so they are clear on their new topic and practice goals each week. I love to make all my students musicians in their own right! I particularly love to watch students flourish musically outside their lessons, from the knowledge they gain from their piano lessons.
