About Maline
I’ve been teaching yoga for over 10 years, and for 3 of those years I lived and studied in India, immersing myself in the traditional teachings of yoga, Vedānta, Sanskrit and mantra. Yoga has been much more than a physical practice in my life. It has been an instrument for self-knowledge, growth and transformation, and this is what I hope to share through my teaching. Today I live in Canada and teach both in person and online. My classes bring together traditional teachings with an accessible and personal approach, incorporating āsana, breathwork, meditation and mantra. Whether you are completely new to yoga or have been practising for years, I meet you where you are and help you develop a practice that supports your individual body, needs and goals.

Every person is different, so I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all yoga practice. Our classes are designed around your experience, body, needs and goals. Depending on what you are looking for, we can explore Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, mobility, prāṇāyāma (breathing practices), meditation and mantra chanting. I honour the traditional roots of yoga while making the practice accessible to modern life. Rather than approaching yoga simply as exercise, I teach it as a practice that can help us develop greater awareness of the body and breath, become more present, and cultivate a steadier relationship with ourselves. A typical private class may include: • A short centering or meditation • Prāṇāyāma and breath awareness • A personalized āsana practice • Mantra or traditional yogic teachings when appropriate • Relaxation and integration Classes can be gentle and grounding or more dynamic and strengthening depending on what you need. Beginners are very welcome. You do not need to be flexible or have any previous yoga experience.

Details
Alongside my private teaching, I am the co-founder of Mahalila, an online yoga school dedicated to sharing yoga as a complete tradition, beyond āsana alone. Through Mahalila, I teach online yoga classes and offer courses and workshops exploring yoga philosophy, meditation, prāṇāyāma, mantra, Sanskrit and other aspects of the yogic tradition. Students are welcome to work with me through private classes or become part of the wider Mahalila community and explore these teachings more deeply.
