About Benedict
From 2011 until 2014 I taught 15 classes a day 5 days a week, 50 weeks of the year. Through this hectic schedule I acquired various techniques that continue to serve me in the classroom. Since 2014 I have honed these techniques and adapted them to suit other classroom environments. Most recently I was in India teaching groups of adults for two years. The technique remained essentially the same, namely interactive lessons which ensure that the students look forward to attending each and every class and don’t feel that speaking another language is something that should cause them stress and discomfort.
Outside of teaching I have completed two level 7 academic qualifications, one in the humanities and another in climate science. I am widely read and can discourse on a variety of subjects. I have also travelled extensively throughout Asia. I’ve trekked throughout the Himalayas, studied yoga on the banks of the Ganges, ridden a motorbike across Vietnam, volunteered with various NGOs and made friends with a huge range of folks from different cultures.

I have experience using a huge variety of techniques and I will select methods which are best suited to individual students. Lessons will typically last between 30 minutes and 1 hour.
I have taught children and adults. Recently I have been teaching adults online. My lessons mostly revolve around reading and then discussion of the topics that come up in the text.
