About Ravi
I have over 25 years experience in mentoring, coaching and managing teams of highly experienced lawyers within the CPS. I have tutored on the BPTC course with particular expertise in advocacy. My judicial experience extends over 10 years and enables me to provide a practical insight into what assessors are looking for beyond an academic appreciation of the law.

I build a relationship with each student. It is the most important foundation for my teaching and the student's learning. Each student is unique in how they understanding concepts and where their unique strengths lie. I strongly believe in developing confidence in students and am a keen advocate of the nudge theory where incremental advances are made with each lesson. I break down the student's perception of where their weaknesses lie so that they can progress through their own understanding rather than mine.
My methodology is to have the student present an issue that they want to discuss, e.g tips on cross examination; how hearsay and bad character applications are best presented. In advance of the lesson, i prepare my lesson on how to tackle the issue. When we discuss the issue, i ask the student to present their approach and then we discuss how that can be improved.
