About Mia
"Admittedly, my sessions often move faster than what you might find in a traditional classroom setting. We start by deconstructing a problem into its fundamental data structures and algorithmic components before touching a single line of code.
I utilize my background in C++ and JavaScript to ensure students grasp object-oriented programming and version control principles. My 4 years of professional experience allows me to pivot quickly between SQL databases and front-end web development as needed. Having a degree from the University of Melbourne provides me with the pedagogical structure to keep these sessions logical and sharp.
Students learn to navigate Git workflows and complex debugging tasks with minimal friction. This technical rigor mimics the environment found in a real trading desk. Seeing a student finally optimize a piece of slow code is genuinely rewarding."

"Teenagers preparing for competitive entrance exams often struggle to bridge the gap between theory and actual industry application. I find that when we look at the reality of software engineering, the standard curriculum feels quite hollow. After 13 years working in quant and fintech roles, I leverage my University of Melbourne degree to simplify complex logic for students.
