About James
I am not traditionally taught. To be honest, the teachers that I met, they were dreary and boring and seemed to hate music! Music was my first love, from hearing my dad play the blues late at night to being introduced to Eric Clapton for the first time. From there, I was determined to not let anything stop me from learning how to play, and play the greats too! Endless hours of hammering away at strings, playing along to backing tracks and late nights trying to get an original song that little bit better. You don't have to do it on your own however, sometimes you need that extra bit of inspiration and I would love to provide that for you.

All it takes is a bad teacher to put you off something, and in my case, that was true. Who wants to learn Do-Re-Mi? I wanted to learn John Mayer, James Bay, Eric Clapton and the list goes on! So, I taught myself. Now, you are probably thinking. What can you teach me that a 'music teacher' can't? The first lesson, you have to love the music you play. It starts with passion and it becomes technique. Our first lesson will be a consultation; your taste, why you want to learn and what music you want to play. From there, we'll take the artist/the song, break it down methodically and take it step by step (whilst teaching you the theory along the way.) This is an entry level tutor programme; so if you have absolutely no idea, but want to learn, then I would be honoured to help you along your journey.
