About Ray

I’m your bridge to the real China. My name is Ray, I am over 50 years old. Before moving to the beautiful "Land of Smiles" (Thailand), I was a professional middle school teacher in China for over 20 years. I have taught thousands of students in the strict Chinese public school system, so I know exactly how to build a solid language foundation. But don't worry! Now that I'm in Thailand, my lifestyle is relaxed, and so is my classroom. I am a native speaker of both Mandarin and Cantonese. Whether you want to pass the HSK exam, do business in China, or just order Dim Sum in Cantonese, I am the right person to help you. I understand the challenges of living in a foreign country and learning a new language. Let's make learning Chinese a fun journey, not a boring task!

About the lesson

Professional Pedagogy + Relaxed Atmosphere
Unlike typical tutors, I am a trained educator. I combine my professional teaching background with real-life conversations.
For Beginners: I use standard Mandarin (or Cantonese) to correct your pronunciation and tones right from the start. No more "Robot Chinese."
For Advanced Learners: We will discuss Chinese culture, news, and business trends.
Customized Lessons: I tailor my materials to your needs—whether it's for travel, business, or exams (HSK).
I am extremely patient (I survived teaching teenagers for 20 years!). I encourage you to speak as much as possible. Making mistakes is the best way to learn!
