About Shelli
I Graduated from Queens College (CUNY) in 2008 with a Masters of Science in Education. I Work full-time with the Department of Education for over 20 years, as a Special Educator; dually licensed to teach all major subjects in Middle School, as well as Biology (Living Environment) on the High School level for 9 years. Science is my niché. I started working as an online tutor during the pandemic when we all learned how quickly our homes became our classrooms. It was a natural progression of sorts as the onset of “at-home” learning became more and more prevalent. My transition to working with not just my students online daily would eventually evolve to helping a plethora of students online. I continue to develop and nurture the needs of my students to better understand living things and their place in the world as we know it.

Biology can be daunting and confusing with many new terms and concepts to challenge students. With a background in Special Education, I implement the necessary skill sets to aid scholars in gaining a deeper understanding of the content as well as proven strategies to aid in student-retention, or one’s ability to remember concepts and ideas taught long after, for test-taking needs or for life.
