About Amanda
I offer one-on-one Norwegian tutoring in Paris, France as well as online, through Skype/Face Time and Google Docs. I can therefore help you with your Norwegian no matter where you live in the world! I was born in Bergen, Norway and I've lived there for 21 years. I've spent the last three years in Paris where I just finished a Master's degree in philosophy. I've been giving private lessons in French and Norwegian for more than three years. During this time I've worked a lot with High School students but I've recently been working more and more with adults of all levels.

My pedagogical experience, my knowledge of my native language, culture and literature, as well as the level of French acquired during these past years as a student at La Sorbonne, all of this has allowed me to find a method that takes into account and allows me to adapt to the level, needs, interests and motivation of my individual students. It's important for me to convey an enthusiasm for the language that will encourage the student to continue learning on their own between classes and after our time together. My schedule is very flexible and I am available during the weekend as well as on weekdays. Online classes are normally conducted via Skype / WhatsApp / FaceTime and Google Docs, depending on the student's preference. We will also use other sources online that allow us to do exercises and to read and work on articles and other texts as well as music, videos etc. This makes for a class that's just as interactive as if we were face to face. Real life classes will be planned according to the students wants or needs, although I do encourage getting as involved with the language as possible right away by letting the student start expressing themselves from the beginning through conversation and writing, immerse themselves in the language with sources related to their own interest and passions, and through learning a lot of vocabulary and going through grammar rules as they appear and become necessary naturally.
