About Jiya
My name is Jiya, and I’m a passionate and dedicated tutor based in NSW, committed to helping students achieve their academic goals and develop a genuine love for learning. I specialize in tutoring Primary and High School students, with expertise in PDHPE, Biology, Chemistry, English Advanced, Mathematics Advanced, and Mathematics Extension 1. My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and adaptable — I focus on building understanding, confidence, and long-term study skills rather than just memorization. Having worked with students of all abilities, I understand that every learner is different. I tailor each lesson to match the student’s learning style and pace, making sure they feel supported and motivated. Whether it’s preparing for exams, improving grades, or simply building confidence, I aim to make every lesson engaging, effective, and enjoyable. My goal as a tutor is not just to help students succeed academically, but also to help them gain confidence, independence, and a genuine curiosity for learning — skills that will benefit them well beyond the classroom.

Techniques & Teaching Methodology:
I aim to make learning clear, enjoyable, and personalised. My approach focuses on understanding each student’s learning style and adapting lessons to suit their pace and goals. I use step-by-step explanations, real-life examples, visual aids, and targeted practice questions to build both knowledge and confidence. For exam-level students, I incorporate past papers, marking criteria, and structured feedback to strengthen exam technique and problem-solving skills.
Typical Lesson Length:
Lessons generally run for 60 minutes, allowing enough time for concept explanation, guided practice, and review. For younger students, I adjust the timing and activities to suit their attention span and engagement level.
Qualifications & Experience:
I have experience tutoring primary and high school students across NSW, with a strong understanding of the NSW curriculum and HSC syllabus requirements. I specialise in PDHPE, Biology, Chemistry, English Advanced, Mathematics Advanced, and Mathematics Extension 1, helping students strengthen their understanding, boost performance, and achieve academic excellence.
