About Saranya
As a person, I am friendly, approachable, and patient. I usually help my peers when they are stuck with concepts at school and they end up doing quite well. I am easy to ask questions to as well whenever you may be confused or don't understand something. Having made a profoundly strong academic improvement from Year 7 to Year 9, I believe I am very resilient and definitely have the capabilities to enhance your / your child's abilities and strength in math.
At school, I am currently studying Mathematics Extension 1, so I have a profound skill-base and passion in maths.
Some of my achievements in maths include:
- Top 10% globally in the Australasian Maths Games 2019
- Australasian Maths Olympiad contestant in 2020 and 2021
- 3rd place in an Interschool Problem Solving Competition 2024
- Distinction in the Australian Mathematics Competition 2024
- Distinction in the International Chemistry Quiz 2023 and 2025

My teaching style is to expose students to different thinking approaches and concepts in maths, and perfecting essential skills by practising.
Depending on the student, I can help them catch up to the top-performers of their cohort within months no matter how hard they are struggling, or help them achieve skills and thinking approaches of mathematics beyond the level they are expected to be learning at for their age.
I also like to challenge students by letting them think of different ways to solve questions, something that is not frequently taught or explored in schools.
My typical lesson length is roughly 1 hour but can be flexible to 1.5 hours for higher levels and students who may need more help.

Perfect! We are delighted to have Sharanya as our daughter's tutor. They both connected really well and to top it off my daughter actually enjoyed her Algebra class oppose to the dislike for the topic which is mostly the case.
