About Eric
I am 42 years old and started teaching in the classroom at age 23. I have spent 20 years working with grades 6-9. My favorite thing to teach is Algebra 1, but I also really enjoy Statistics, as well as working with concepts from grades 3-6 with fractions, decimals, and proportional reasoning. I have been the varsity hockey coach for 17 years, and coach a lot of baseball in the summer. I have 4 kids, all elementary-aged.

My approach is one that is based on developing deep understanding of math patterns, relationships, and connection between math principles. I believe in direct instruction with modeling, guided practice, and real life applications that require and promote deep connections between math ideas. I have taught all types of learners from many grade levels in the classroom, giving me a unique understanding of how it all fits together.
