About Camilla
I am a primary school teacher and year group leader currently working in Year 6. I am looking to help any children who need that extra bit of help or challenge!
My strengths lie with children from Year 1-6 and those prepping for 11+ exams. I currently run a club at my school for the children who are aiming to take their 11+ exams. I have also had experience tutoring Year 8 pupils.
My positive skills are that I am a very patient person and I get along with kids very well through taking time to get to know them and building a relationship, whilst fostering an independence in their work.
During the pandemic I did online tutoring for Year 2, Year 5 and Year 8 pupils over Zoom, which was incredibly successful but I do find most success to be face to face tuition.
I am in my eighth year of teaching but have worked with children for a few years since leaving university in 2014.
I have had experience teaching year 3, 4 and 5 and now 6. I am also a year group lead and mentor for new teachers.
I get to know a child first in order to assess their ability and teach each child differently according to this. I have many different techniques and ideas in order to capture a child's interest and learning.
I have worked with a lot of special needs and lower ability children but in contrast work with children aiming to take their 11+ exam.

I will assess your child to ensure we start at the appropriate level for them. Through our meetings I will be able to use my experience to tailor sessions to them in terms of using different types of resources. I like to foster independence, so will often give children the tools and then give them independent tasks to complete.
If there are key things that you as a parent feel need to be covered then I will take that into account.
At the end of the sessions I will let you know what we have covered and if requested, leave homework.
