You can feel confident learning with me because I’ve dedicated my entire career to both building complex systems and helping others grow. As a Solutions Architect and Associate VP with over 25 years in software, I’ve mentored countless developers on the job — guiding everyone from new hires to seasoned engineers through tricky technical challenges and best practices. Beyond the tech world, I also own and run a martial arts school, where I’ve taught students of all ages for the past four years. That means I know how to keep lessons engaging, adapt to different learning styles, and support people as they tackle new skills — whether it’s a teenager learning their first programming loop or a professional preparing for an interview. I’ve also volunteered extensively to tutor children and teens in various subjects. How I teach and what it’s like to learn with me
I keep things simple: we figure out what you want to achieve, where you’re starting from, and build a plan together. I love using real examples — sometimes even snippets from the kinds of systems I’ve designed in my career — so you can see how concepts like Java inheritance, JavaScript async, or PHP frameworks actually work in the real world.
I believe learning should be hands-on. We’ll code together, sketch diagrams, and tackle problems you’d run into on the job. I also explain why things work the way they do, so it sticks, and you’re not just memorizing.
A typical session
Usually we’ll start by quickly reviewing what we did last time, maybe warm up with a small challenge, then dive into the topic you want to master. We’ll build or debug code together, answer your questions as they come up, and wrap up by making sure you know exactly what to practice before our next session.
