About Arlo
I’m an English tutor with over 3 years of experience and a Bachelor of Science in English Language and Professional Writing. My greatest passion lies in children’s literature, storytelling, and nurturing early literacy. I love helping young learners discover the joy of reading and the wonder that stories can bring. My lessons are full of engaging picture books, interactive read-alouds, and playful activities that spark imagination. I focus on building phonological awareness and improving reading comprehension in fun and meaningful ways. With each session, I aim to make reading feel like an adventure. I specialize in working with emergent readers and early elementary students, creating a safe and encouraging space to grow. Whether we’re sounding out words, acting out a story, or diving into a colorful new book, learning feels exciting and natural. I’m especially experienced with Immigrant/Newcomer and Academic/Linguist learners who want strong travel-ready English. I guide each student step by step, adapting lessons to their needs and goals.
