About Ellie
I am a writer and have always loved writing, speaking, and debating. I wrote and defended a senior thesis on the issues of our education system and won first place in the Fall of 2023 Mid Atlantic Debate Tournament. Learning to speak and write well has always been a passion and I look to advance in my skills as I pursue a degree in elementary and secondary education.

Grammar and Composition are one of the most important parts of a child's education. These subjects are essential to being able to communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally when they enter the outside world. However, skills and habits are created at a young age and should be engrained in their natural tendencies as they enter college. I teach Kindergarten to 12th grade.
Most of my time for composition will be used aiding them on any essays they may be assigned in class. Additionally, I aim to teach core essay structures such as the difference between how to write a persuasive essay and a commemorative speech. As we enter middle and high school, I introduce progymnasmata and rhetoric elements. T succeed well in composition, I would also highly encourage taking my Logic course as well.
Grammar is more for K-8. I will be using the Shirley English curriculum where the student learns the different sentence structures, types of words (nouns, verbs, pronouns, etc.), correct placements of punctuation, etc. Shirley English uses fun jingles and rhymes to help with memorization.
