About Zakia
I grew up with a love of literature. In primary school, I spent my free time reading poetry and as many books and facts as I could. I even read the dictionary a few times. However, while i loved reading, as I grew older, my heart swayed more towards science and mathematics. I found comfort in solid facts and statistics while navigating through hard and confusing times in my life, even enjoying lessons my peers found irritating and boring.
My intention is not to deceive and while I am here to help my family with the cost of the living crisis while still studying, I am also here to teach as I’ve always had my heart set on teaching. My family describe me as patient while my friends describe me as caring and helpful and I hope these are true enough to benefit me whilst i teach.

As a daughter of military personnel, I travel a lot, meaning I’ve been taught (and learnt by observation) a range of teaching techniques. I understand not all student can study in similar ways and hope to find the most effective learning method for each student i tutor. I acheived grade 8 in Maths, grade As in both English Language and English Literature, a grade 8 in Biology and a grade 7 in Chemistry. However, since my GCSEs I’ve honed and improved on each subject, although I’ve not taken any formal exam. I also, whilst taking my GCSEs, studied at an extraordinarily underfunded school and tutored my friends who were struggling. As a result they all went up a minimum of 4 grades in each subject I helped with, though I can’t claim all the credit for that! Last but not least, I’d like to add that no matter what my best interests will always be for the student and making sure that they receive the best level of help they can so if I feel I cannot provide that I will try my best to help them find something more suitable.
