About Adam
I love awakening young minds to a love of English. Textual analysis of literature and poetry is my strong point - decoding the meaning from the text. Also as an irregular, word-loving dyslexic myself I know lots of alternative methods of communicating ideas in English, and dealing with the associated difficulties in essay writing and comprehension. I write poetry, songs and short fiction for my own pleasure, and have been an actor and singer for many years. I never stop reading. Words and communication really are my passion. University : - University of Sussex - English and Drama Studies [2/2] Prizes and Scholarships : The George Watson's College Academic Bursary - 20% of my fees for all of senior school (the last six years of school) were paid by this. Adam has been tutoring our son for Common Entrance English since January 2014. Adam's commitment and approach to tutoring was quite novel. He quickly identified the genres that appealed to our son - such as horror and adventure. Adam then brought some of his own books related to these genres which helped keep our son focused and also interested in reading comprehension and poetry. We found Adam to be very polite, always on time and very approachable. He was very flexible if we needed to rearrange our scheduled session. Our son thoroughly enjoyed his sessions with Adam and achieved an "A" grade in his CE English exam which he was most delighted with.
