About Derek
"Students often arrive hearing the scratchy friction of a bow against string. I focus on smoothing that sound using scales and arpeggios.
After 13 years of teaching, I have guided 67 students through the nuances of shifting positions and vibrato. Intonation is critical.
I incorporate ear training into every session so you hear pitch accurately. We explore classical repertoire together. My goal is helping you find your voice. I am the mentor who bridges the gap from amateur to stage."
