About Imogen
I am a violin tutor with 9 years of experience and a Doctor of Philosophy in Violin Performance. I enjoy helping students build confidence while developing refined technique and expressive musical skills.
My lessons focus on patience, careful guidance, and steady improvement for every learner. I believe consistent encouragement helps students reach their potential while enjoying every stage of learning.
Outside teaching, I enjoy performing chamber music, studying historical violin works, and mentoring young musicians. These experiences help me create inspiring lessons filled with practical musical knowledge.

My violin lessons encourage students to develop beautiful playing through patient instruction and consistent practice. We focus on posture, bow control, finger placement, intonation, rhythm, tone production, scales, string crossings, and expressive phrasing using clear demonstrations and carefully planned exercises. Every lesson helps students improve comfortably while enjoying music.
As students continue progressing, we work on vibrato, shifting, sight reading, ensemble skills, performance preparation, musical interpretation, and effective practice habits. I provide supportive guidance that helps learners overcome challenges while building confidence for performances.
My goal is to help every student perform with confidence, musical expression, and technical accuracy. Every lesson strengthens both artistic ability and long-term enjoyment of violin playing.
