About MD

Hi, I’m MD, a University of Toronto graduate in Health and Disease with a minor in Human Biology. I’ve always enjoyed helping students make sense of subjects that seem complicated at first — especially biology, chemistry, and math. My lessons are calm, organized, and built around what each student actually needs. I focus on explaining ideas in a way that’s easy to understand, using examples, practice questions, and simple connections to everyday life. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and to walk away from each session feeling more confident. What sets me apart is the mix of academic experience and real-world understanding I bring from research and clinical settings. I know how to turn detailed scientific concepts into something approachable and practical. I’ve worked with students at different levels, from middle school to university, and I always take the time to adjust my teaching style to fit how they learn best. My goal is not only to help you improve your grades but also to help you see that science can actually be enjoyable when it finally makes sense.

I’m a recent University of Toronto graduate in Health and Disease, with a strong background in biology, chemistry, and math. Over the years, I’ve helped students strengthen their understanding of tough science topics by focusing on clear explanations, good study habits, and steady progress.

My Approach:
I like to start by getting a sense of how each student learns best. Everyone processes information differently, so I adjust the pace, examples, and level of detail to match what works for them. I focus on breaking down concepts into plain language, using visuals, real-world examples, and quick recall exercises to help things stick.

How a Lesson Usually Goes:

We begin with a short review of what we covered last time, just to refresh your memory.

Then, we move on to new material, working through examples together and pausing for questions along the way.

The last part of the session is spent on practice problems or reviewing tricky areas until you feel confident.

I also leave quick study tips or short exercises you can use between lessons.

What Makes Me Different:

I have both research and teaching experience, so I can explain not just the “what,” but the “why” behind the science.

I’ve worked with students who learn at different speeds, and I’m patient when it takes time to click.

I try to make lessons feel comfortable and encouraging, so learning never feels overwhelming.

Who My Lessons Are For:

I mainly work with middle school, high school, and early university students who want extra help in biology, chemistry, or math. Whether you’re preparing for an exam, struggling with a certain topic, or just want to improve your study techniques, we’ll build a plan that fits your goals.
