About Alexander
I am a writer with a passion for literature and teaching. I have been giving private lessons since March 2019, both on high school and university level writing and on Western literature in general. My favourite subjects are Modernist literature and drama, because I love acting, putting on accents, and bringing a work of art to life.
I graduate from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor's degree in English in June. While at U of T, I've been granted four scholarships for academic excellence and done research on the Italian poet, Dante Alighieri, and on the early English novelist, Henry Fielding. I've also edited the academic book of a Professor of Public Policy. I concentrated in my studies on Modernist Literature, Russian Literature, Irish literature and Postmodern Drama, and went to Ireland for three months to do research on Irish writers. I can speak some French and understand Italian.

My teaching methods are transparent and focused. I base my classes on the needs of the student(s) I work with. I pull from many subject areas outside of English Literature to flesh out the ideas of the works we study, and encourage my students to do the same. For young students, or students with little interest in the subject, I always begin by rousing and enlivening the imagination, because it is the gateway to understanding literature, to reading well, and to writing well.
