About Andrew
Unlock your full potential with personalized tutoring from a seasoned educator. I bring 5 years of experience teaching at the elementary level into this new virtual classroom. As an English Education major from Midway University, I have a unique liberal arts perspective that is evenly tempered by having grown up here in the Bluegrass.
Teaching is my lifelong passion, stemming from my childhood days playing "school" with cousins or imaginary friends. I derive immense joy from helping learners achieve their educational goals and aspirations. However, teaching transcends academics; I prioritize providing emotional and physical support to students. As my college professor often said, "You can't teach 'em, if ya can't reach 'em." Overcoming obstacles such as hunger, lack of clothing, environmental comfort, sickness, sleepiness, anxiety, and emotional distress is essential for effective learning. In my classes, you'll experience one-on-one sessions designed to propel mastery with each lesson tailored to your learning style and needs. And with a background in managing computer lab classrooms, I very seamlessly integrate technology to enhance student learning. I'm an avid techie who embraces tools like grammar/spell-check, and AI, like ChatGPT, when appropriate.
I offer limited extra help outside our scheduled sessions to ensure your success. The first session is free as a meet-and-greet to discuss your goals and how I can help you achieve them. My focused energy is dedicated to lifting you up, helping you move at your own pace, and to reach your full potential.
