About Skye
Hello, my name is Skye. I have a Bachelor's degree in Mathematical Physics and I have been a lifelong problem solver. I am enthusiastic about solving difficult math and physics problems and I love sharing the skills and strategies I use with other students. Throughout high school and undergrad, I have been the "go to" person for homework help. Everyone learns differently and I like to adapt my tutoring strategy to my student's learning style. I take the time to understand how you learn best so that I can tailor my explanations in a way that makes sense to you. It is important that students arrive at solutions to problems independently in order to internalize the concepts that they are learning. I will not just give you solutions, rather I guide you through the problem solving strategies that I go through when solving the same problem. I ask prompting questions to facilitate the discovery of these problem solving techniques by yourself. All in all, I enjoy seeing my students make progress and developing a deeper understanding in the topics I teach. I will take the time to help you achieve your highest potential!

A typical lesson starts with summarizing important definitions and concepts, and then going through a worked example. I address any questions, concerns, doubts, etc. along the way. Then I give my students an example to work on with hints depending on how comfortable they are with the lesson so far. I adjust my pacing and strategy depending on my student's needs.
I give hints via guiding questions that help the student think about the problem in a different light in order to see the solution more clearly. I like to give my students an appropriate amount of time to think about the question and problem solving strategy before giving more hints. I believe this helps students to better internalize what they are learning as it helps them arrive at the solution using their own independent thinking.
My lessons are for middle school, high school, and even 1st and 2nd year undergraduate students taking math or physics courses.

Perfect! I found Skye on SuperProf at a desperate time when I needed a little extra push to do better in Grade 12 Advanced Functions and Physics. I reached out and he responded within 15 minutes, and then we had our first session that day!
Skye is extremely smart and a very good tutor! He explains the "why's" behind every math operation and the theory behind the Physics concept, which really locks in why you are doing what you are doing. When I have trouble figuring things out in class, I rest assured I can just ask Skye at our next tutoring session!
He is also unlike any other tutor I've had. Skye actually cares about the work he does. He double checks your understanding, tries new and REAL ways to explain concepts and gives you tips + tricks to answering questions. It is super helpful!
10/10! I highly recommend Skye if you need help with Math and Physics in general, or even just a push to do better in your classes!

Perfect! Skye and my 15 year old son hit it off right away. My son tends to be shy and had never been tutored before. Skye is positive, patient, and made him feel very comfortable and my son gave me a thumbs up even during his first lesson; I was very relieved. Skye is organized and asked at least a day in advance what my son would like to work on so no time is wasted during the actual weekly sessions. Skye taught the lessons for which my son couldn’t hear or understand his teacher. And when my son did understand the teacher’s lesson, Skye would teach him strategies and tips and go over more difficult questions that might come up on a test. In less than a month, my son already scored 20% higher on his next test, a huge improvement! I’m so thankful Skye is my son’s tutor. Skye assisted me greatly in my undergrad math and physics courses. He was endlessly patient with me and took the time to make sure that I really understood the concepts. He’s so passionate about math and physics and that enthusiasm is contagious, inspiring me to keep going even with topics and concepts that frustrated me.
