About William
I enjoy helping students understand the reasoning behind biological concepts rather than simply memorising information for an exam. I know that topics can become much easier once they are explained in a clear and approachable way, so I aim to create lessons where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through difficult ideas at their own pace.
I want to use my scientific knowledge and teaching experience to help GCSE and A-Level students become more confident in Biology, improve their exam technique and, ideally, develop a genuine interest in the subject.

I tailor each lesson to the student’s current level, goals and areas of difficulty, with a strong focus on building genuine understanding rather than simply memorising facts. I use clear explanations, diagrams, worked examples, active recall and exam style questions to help students develop both biological knowledge and confidence in applying it.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes and can include topic teaching, revision, past-paper practice, exam technique or support with specific areas of the syllabus. I can adapt sessions around the student’s exam board and upcoming assessments.
I hold a Masters in Biomedical Science from the University of Warwick and have a strong background in molecular biology, genetics, microbiology and cell biology. I also have experience mentoring and instructing younger students through the Air Training Corps
My lessons are particularly suited to GCSE and A-Level Biology students, whether they are aiming to strengthen difficult topics, prepare for exams or push towards higher grades.
