About Linnea
I am a student at the University of Victoria studying Math and Linguistics. While it is a challenging field, I believe math to be one of the most beautiful things the world has to offer, and I want to help challenge the common belief that some people "just aren't math people."
Outside of school, I love to do embroidery and go hiking. Growing up in BC, I was always right by the mountains and grew up going on backcountry hiking trips. I find the alpine meadows in BC to be the most beautiful physical things in the world--on par with mathematics--and love to find mathematical patterns out in nature.

As a teacher and math student, I have seen how our culture frames math as something difficult and intimidating that only a few are able to master. This attitude harms students, and I aim to dispel this myth by helping students realize that they are capable of math too!
From years of tutoring math both formally and informally, I have worked with students from a range of backgrounds and needs. This has helped me develop an extensive toolbox of techniques to help students understand concepts in different ways depending on their unique learning styles.
My lessons in middle and high school level math are perfect to help students build confidence and excel in their math courses.
