About Connie
Ironically, when I was a student, I was also bad at math! I've tried many tutors growing up and I know first-hand that they can be hit or miss. The best tutors, in my opinion, were not the math geniuses who swore by one specific method. It was the people who've made the same mistakes in the past, and through experience, know why those mistakes were being made and how to stop.
I was able to graduate from the University of Toronto with my Bachelors of Computer Science because I made mistakes and fixed those mistakes. As a tutor, I'll help my students fix their mistakes, change bad math-habits, and identify their strengths and weakness so they feel more confident in themselves and their math skills.

I like to start my lessons with some warm-up questions which cover any necessary prerequisite knowledge, depending on the lesson planned. Then, I'll walk students through any homework problems they have by providing hints along the way and address any questions that they have. Ideally, this will help students develop their own problem-solving approach and feel confident tackling similar problems in the future.
For students preparing for tests and exams, I create personalized problem sets that target any area they might have trouble with. I'll ask for past exams so that the problem sets I create accurately reflect their teachers expectations.
My lessons are for any middle school or high school student who is looking for some extra help.
