About Uththaka
A little bit about me:
My name is Uththaka, I am a dedicated University student. Following completing my GCSEs and A-levels I am completing an undergraduate degree in Cardiac Physiology. I am highly motivated and have a passion for helping other young learners succeed in their maths and science curriculum. Throughout school I enjoyed learning maths and science and want to help students obtain their highest potential in these areas. My approach is patient, clear and focused on building genuine understanding rather than memorisation.

I genuinely enjoy helping students overcome challenges and discover their strengths. Seeing a student grow in confidence — especially in subjects they once found difficult — is one of the most rewarding parts of tutoring for me. I aim to make every lesson engaging, supportive, and tailored to the individual.

Who my lessons are for:
I provide tutoring for all students between ages 8-16 - including SATs and GCSE preparation. This includes students of all levels of ability, whether a student needs help securing a pass or is pushing for grades 7-9.
Teaching Methodology:
My lessons are adapted to each student's ability, preferred learning style and aims; I provide step-by-step explanations to complex topics, using diagrams etc to explain topics and consolidating newly learnt information with practice questions. Students will work through examples with me to help them develop problem-solving skills and independence; following this, I use past papers, targeted questions and exam-technique practice to improve performance in tests. At the end of each lesson, clear feedback is given on strengths and areas for improvement.
Standard lessons: 1.5 hours
Flexible options: lesson times can range between 1 to 2 hours based on the student's needs and focus.i
