About Salam
Hi, I'm Salam, a Civil Engineering student at the University of Sheffield and a passionate Mathematics tutor for GCSE, IGCSE, and A-Level students.
Mathematics has always been one of my strongest subjects, and as an engineering student I continue to use advanced mathematical concepts every day. Through tutoring, I have had the opportunity to help more than 20 students improve their understanding, confidence, and exam performance, with many going on to achieve grades of 7 and above.
I decided to become a tutor because I know how frustrating Maths can feel when concepts are not explained clearly. My goal is to break down difficult topics into simple, manageable steps and help students develop both the skills and confidence needed to succeed in exams.
I pride myself on being professional, patient, and results-oriented. Whether you are aiming to pass, improve your current grade, or achieve top marks, I am committed to helping you reach your academic goals through structured and engaging lessons.

My approach to tutoring is simple: understand the concept, master the method, and then apply it under exam conditions. As a Civil Engineering student at the University of Sheffield, I use mathematics daily and understand the importance of building a strong foundation before tackling challenging exam questions.
My lessons are highly exam-focused and tailored to each student's needs. We begin by identifying weaknesses, then work through concepts step-by-step before reinforcing them with exam-style questions and past paper practice. I place a strong emphasis on problem-solving techniques, common examiner expectations, and efficient methods that help students maximise their marks.
I have tutored over 20 students in GCSE, IGCSE, and A-Level Mathematics, with many achieving grades of 7 and above. I am familiar with Edexcel and Cambridge IGCSE specifications and have experience preparing students for important board examinations.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes long and are conducted online. They are suitable for GCSE, IGCSE, and A-Level students of all abilities, whether you are looking to improve your confidence, catch up on difficult topics, or push your grade from a 6 or 7 to an 8 or 9.
