About Mark
Born and raised in California, I emigrated to Canada when still a teenaager. I have lived and taught in 4 Canadian provinces and have travelled across Canada many time taking my camera with me. I have been to many European countries and am fascinated by the history and cultures demonstrated in international settings. Besides English and ESL, I have taught World History, Canadian History, and Social Social Studies to young students. teens, university students, and professionals.

I use a communicative approach to teaching English. All lessons are taught within a context and relevant to the interests of the student(s). I will use the fine arts and creative arts to increase interest and motivation that allows students to see language and expression as the same process. Current events and historical processes are often discussed in order to increase vocabulary knowledge. As a photographer, I may also use my own photos to stimulate discussion about culture and travel.
