About Alexey
My background
gives me confidence that I can teach a broad selection of classes, ranging from advanced research topics
such as theoretical and computational biophysics and biochemistry, to basic courses such as classical
and quantum mechanics, statistical mechanics and the theory of condensed matter, stochastic processes
and nonequilibrium statistical mechanics. In addition, my expertise in developing and maintaning of scientific codes and science gateways will provide a valuable complementary knowledge base in computer
science so needed by students pursuing degree in theoretical computational sciences and which is often
under-represented, or not present at all in a typical curriculum.

To me, being a good teacher is associated with being a good presenter. That is, a teacher has to necessarily
possess an ability to explain complicated issues to a non-expert, to an inexperienced student, in
terms of clear concepts and ideas. If I manage to teach as a good presenter, I believe I will be granted
an invaluable gift from my students – an enthusiastic attitude toward my class and, most important, unexpected and non-trivial questions, simple and complex, which would make me address them in the same, non-trivial fashion.
