About Mursalin
I'm Mursalin, a second-year Industrial Economics student at the University of Nottingham - a Russell Group university - where I've completed my first year with strong results across both quantitative and qualitative modules. Before university, I attended Bedford Modern School where I achieved a Grade 8 in GCSE Maths alongside nine other GCSEs, followed by A-Levels in Psychology (A*), Economics (A) and Mathematics (B).
I've always enjoyed explaining things clearly and helping people understand concepts that initially seem daunting. Outside of academics, I appeared on ITV's The Chase in 2026, which speaks to my ability to think quickly, stay calm under pressure and communicate confidently: qualities I bring into every tutoring session.
I'm reliable, punctual and genuinely invested in my students' progress. I understand the pressure of exams because I've been through them recently myself, so I know what works when it comes to building confidence and improving grades. I'm based in Bedford and available for both in-person and online sessions, with flexible scheduling around evenings and weekends.

I tailor every session around what the student actually finds difficult rather than just working through a textbook start to finish. I use clear, step-by-step methods to break down problems and build genuine understanding: not just memorised shortcuts that fall apart under exam pressure.
Sessions typically last one hour. I start by revisiting any problem areas from the previous session, work through new concepts with clear examples, then move into guided practice where the student tackles questions with my support. I finish with a brief recap and set focused practice for the week ahead so progress carries between sessions.
I work from the relevant exam board's specification and past papers (AQA, Edexcel or OCR) so every session is directly aligned with what will actually come up in the exam. Whether it's algebra, trigonometry, statistics or problem-solving questions, I adapt to wherever the gaps are.
I'm a second-year Industrial Economics student at the University of Nottingham with a Grade 9 in GCSE Maths. My lessons are aimed at GCSE students looking to improve their confidence, exam technique and grades. I'm patient, clear and happy to go over things as many times as needed.
