About Ashlyn
I just completed the first year of my Bachelor's degree in math, and I want to be a high school math teacher! I started tutoring three months ago, and I have always had a passion for both teaching and math. I have worked in child care as well, so I have some experience working with kids. I am very patient and I always listen to my students and try my best to accommodate each individual's needs, coming to each one's level of understanding. I value kindness, respect, and punctuality.

I can help with homework questions/assignments, studying/reviewing for upcoming tests, quizzes, or exams, and I can explain and go over any concepts that are confusing/need to be reviewed. I like to give an overall explanation, walk through the steps, and then do a few examples to practice together (I can come up with extra examples to practice). I also usually ask the student to do an example or two to practice on their own and get used to doing it, because I believe the more you do it the easier it gets!
I personalize my lessons and adapt to the needs of each student, and I go at the pace that best suits them. I will always ask if there are any questions so that I can go over things again if needed, and can accommodate any other requests as well. I try my best to come up with real-life examples and analogies, and I share any tips and tricks that I have learned over the years that make things easier to learn or remember. I try to explain why things are done the way they are so that you can understand the logic behind it.
I give lessons for students up to grade 12.
